Why teams choose Rive
One Rive file holds the design, code, and motion, and that’s the file that ships. That one change cuts time to market and cost, and raises the bar on quality.
Faster time to market
Designers, animators, developers, and agents all work on the same file, so there’s no handoff and nothing to rebuild for each platform.
Agent speed, artist control
Your agent builds with the Rive CLI in Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, in hours instead of weeks. Then designers and animators refine it by hand in the Rive Editor, with professional tools for rigging, timelines, state machines, and data binding.
Lower cost
No revenue share, no runtime fees, no royalties, and MIT open-source runtimes. One file covers every screen, from the car dashboard to the phone app, so there’s one thing to build, review, and maintain.
Higher quality
Vector, raster, and 3D in one scene, drawn by the Rive Renderer. It’s light enough for an underpowered car GPU, so you can build experiences where you wouldn’t run HTML or a full game engine.
In production
Teams at Spotify, Duolingo, Disney, and Riot Games ship with Rive. Here’s what they and independent builders say about it.

FAQ
Is Rive free?
Yes. The free plan includes the Rive Editor and the Rive CLI, with usage limits, and you can ship what you make. Free exports play a Rive splash screen. Any paid plan exports without it.
Do the runtimes cost anything?
No. The Rive runtimes are open source under the MIT license. You pay no royalties, revenue share, or runtime fees on what you ship, however many users or devices it reaches.
Do I need an account to start?
No. Install the Rive CLI and your coding agent builds and previews Rive files without an account. A free account lets you open the same file in the Rive Editor.
How do seats work?
Plans are priced per seat, per Workspace. Cadet allows up to 3 seats and Voyager up to 25. If you work in two paid Workspaces, each one pays for your seat. To pay once, work in one shared Workspace.
Who needs the Enterprise plan?
Companies with more than $10 million in annual gross revenue, counting parent and affiliate companies, use the Enterprise plan, as our Terms of Service require. Enterprise adds SSO, SOC2 Type II, and a dedicated Slack channel.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Cancel from your account page whenever you like. The plan stays active until the end of the billing period, then the Workspace moves to the free plan. Fees already paid aren’t refunded.
Is there a student plan?
Yes. Students with a valid student email or documentation can request the Student Plan for personal educational work. Schools, universities, and non-profits use a standard Cadet or Voyager plan.
What are agent credits?
Credits pay for the AI Agent built into the Rive Editor. Free and Cadet include limited use. Voyager adds $20 and Enterprise $40 in credits per seat each month, and top-up credits never expire.
