Press Release from BMW i Ventures
Article by BMW i Ventures

BMW i Ventures has invested in Rive, backing our mission to change how interfaces are designed, built, and shipped with motion. Static mockups are out, and interactive UI that runs everywhere is in.

For too long, teams have been stuck in a broken loop: designers faking motion in prototypes, developers rebuilding it all in code, and products losing fidelity in the process. Rive cuts through the churn with a single workflow: design, animate, add interactivity, ship straight to production. The payoff is faster iteration, smoother collaboration, and experiences that feel like they belong in the future.

“Rive is not only improving design workflows, it’s reshaping how brands build digital experiences and products,” said Kasper Sage, Managing Partner at BMW i Ventures. “By merging design and development into a unified workflow, Rive unlocks faster time to market, higher-quality UI assets, and frees up valuable developer time, reducing cost. We believe this sets a new standard for the next generation of interactive design.”

UI on wheels

Cars aren’t just metal and motors anymore. They’re rolling computers with dashboards, climate controls, and infotainment systems that demand more than static screens. Rive is built for that reality.

And because our vector format is lightweight and our runtimes are open-source, everything stays fast, efficient, and reliable, perfect for situations where every millisecond and kilobyte count.

What’s next

This investment is proof that Rive is ready as a full UI replacement — and not just a tool for micro interactions. With BMW i Ventures joining investors like Andreeson Horowitz (a16z), Duolingo, Two Sigma Ventures, and Unusual Ventures, Rive keeps pushing into new territory. Cars, consumer products, enterprise software — you name it.

The demand for living, functional graphics is everywhere.
