Inviting Team Members

Rive offers free and paid teams.

Collaborating with others is easy with Teams to work on a project or track progress.

There are three different types of team members:

  • Editor: can view and edit all files in the team space

  • Admin: can add and remove members to the team as well as edit and view all the files in the team space

  • Viewer: can view the files but cannot edit them

You can invite someone to your team during or after team creation.

Inviting during team creation

Create your free team.

Name your team.

Invite your team members. You can select the role for the team member in the dropdown once you've entered in their email address.

If you type in the wrong email address or add someone you don't wish to add, you can remove them before creating the team.

Click on "Create Team."

When the team is created, invites are emailed out to each person you added to your team.

On the right sidebar, you can see the status of your team. In this case, the team is Free and each person who has been invited has not accepted their invite yet. Any outstanding invite will have "pending" behind it. When they accept the invite, the "pending" status is removed.

The role for each member is listed. You can change their role by clicking on it and selecting a new role from the dropdown menu.

Inviting After Team Creation - Free Team

You have an active team (free or paid) and you wish to invite someone to your team.

There are two ways to invite someone to your active team:

  1. You can invite them directly from the editor.

  2. You can invite them from your Account page.

On the right side of the editor is the team information. Click on the "Invite" tab.

This opens up a new tab where you can invite members to your team.

Type in their email address and click "Add." Once you click "Add," the email address shows up below and you can select what type of team permissions you wish to grant to that person. You will also see a list of what types of members are on your team and the cost of adding a new person to the team. This is a free team, so there is no cost, regardless of the role you choose.

Click "Confirm" to send the person an invite to your team.

Once you click "Confirm," you will be redirected to the Teams page in your account. This shows you what type of team you have and everyone you have invited to your team.

We recommend that people create a free Rive account before accepting the emailed invite.

If you have multiple Rive accounts with different email addresses (I.E. you have a work email address account and a personal email address account) log out of Rive before accepting the invite. Regardless of the email address the invite was emailed to, clicking to accept the invite will connect the Rive account you are currently logged into.

Inviting After Team Creation - Paid Team

Subscribe to a paid team.

Inviting someone to a paid team can be done in the editor. On the right-hand sidebar, click on "Manage Team."

This takes you to the teams page of your account.

In the Members section, click on "Invite Members."

From here you enter in the email address of each person you wish to invite to the team. Once you click on "Add," you can select the role for each person.

You will be charged a pro-rated amount once you click on "Confirm & Pay." Editors and Admins are paid seats. Viewers are free. You can add as many of each role as you need.

After clicking "Confirm & Pay," the invites are emailed to each person and your card on file is charged. You are then directed to the account page.

You can see your billing cycle along with what your next bill will be as long as no additional changes are made.

Inviting From the Account Page

You can also invite people from your Account page.

Make sure you select "Manage Team" and the correct team.

"Create new Team" will create a completely new team.

In the Members section, click on "Invite Members."

From here you enter in the email address of each person you wish to invite to the team. Once you click on "Add," you can select the role for each person.
