Struggling connecting nested artboards/state machines

I have a fairly simple project and am just losing my mind a bit on connecting a few nested artboards into something cohesive. I have a looping background animation, a logo build, and a hover state/click animation. The background is working fine, however the transition from the logo build to the hover state/click just doesn't work right. I have that animation as a nested artboard that I would like to transition to after you hover over the logo, but it skips the first bit of animation/is not playing the nested state machine correctly.

If I set the nested artboard to play specific animation instead of the state machine and use the remap function (because "simple" doesn't appear to work at all) it does work, but then it doesn't respond to the listener/input to activate the click animation.

This is all just in the editor on a Mac.

I don't know if it's helpful but, when I select the nested artboard and click the plus button in the animation drop down I can add the specific animation, key frame it, and then click the eye off, and drag the state machine animation beneath. Doing this will make everything appear to work correctly in the editor. But when I create a share link and try to look there or on Framer it works incorrectly as I originally described.

Hi, Is this what you expect to happen?

It's actually better since it didn't even occur to me to have it reverse back once you are not hovering over. How did I mess it up? Are you able to share back the archive so I can look at it? Separately, the ultimate idea is to have a click on the "SHOWREEL" button trigger an event which launches a link. I have the event in there with the URL (not sure if you saw that), but when I've used the Rive preview or exported it over to Framer, nothing was happening.

I've been an animator for a long time so those tools in Rive all feel very familiar and the ability to have more accessible, interactive content I think has huge potential....just been a bit tough getting the hang of things as some stuff that seems really simply to me doesn't work quite right once you start connecting nested artboards.

Yes, no problem. This is the file. I added an idle state, in addition to the hover state that I think was missing for the animations to work well. Another thing I did was add a hitbox for the listener, instead of using the button, so that the hover works correctly.

Thanks for sending that along. Unfortunately, when I open it looks unchanged from the original version I shared.

I think I send you the original file. Try with this
