Scrub through stop animation timeline (using solo group) when mouse hovers on X-axis of a rectangle strip.

Hello everybody. What I am trying to achieve is a little complicated... so I have made a video instead which covers what I am trying to achieve and the problems I am running into. The summary is:

  1. I have created a solo group made up of 24 circles in different positions which start at the center of the artboard and end on the left side.

  2. I created two timelines... the first is a stop animation 24 frame timeline made from the solo group. The first frame of the timeline corresponds to the first circle (ball). The second timeline is the same concept bit in reverse.

  3. My goal to to be able to hover my mouse over a horizontal rectangle strip from left to right, and cause the stop frame timeline 1 to scrub through it... frame by frame... and thereby making the ball appear to move to the left of the artboard. When I hover my mouse back the opposite direction... then the ball would move along back to the right.

Please see the video for a more in depth explanation.... and also some of the problems (potential bugs???) I have run into.

Thanks for any help

Hey there! So I've attached a file and video walking you though how you might want to set this up. You've got two options to choose from, depending on what you're looking to achieve.

Hi Robert.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and make a video about this. I will go through it and take a look. I appreciate it!

Hello Robert,

I have a second follow up question to the first question I posted here in this thread. This follow up question is really more of an "add-on" question.... or basically taking the original question to a more complex level. I am posting another video for this question as well.

Thank you,
