Issue with Text "Hugging" in Nested Artboard

Hi Rive Community,

I've set up my Light and Dark mode buttons using the "hug" feature, and they work perfectly on their own. However, when I drag these buttons into a nested artboard to configure my solo mode, I encounter issues. The text becomes misaligned and stretches vertically, losing its original layout.

I've ensured the buttons are correctly set to "hug," and I've double-checked the constraints and alignment settings within the nested artboard.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any advice on what might be causing this issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi ! In your main artbord, select the nested artboard layer and try switching its mode to "Layout". Let me know if that fixes the issue.

Hi
Thanks for your answer :)

I don't have the "Layout" option when clicking on my nested artboard. Only "Node" and "Leaf"

It's available when my nested artboards aren't in a Solo group but it doesn't solve the issue either.

That is because your nested artboard in inside a Solo. Bring it out and you'll see the option in the dropdown.

To solve your solo issue, instead of having 2 different artboards, I suggest you use a single artboard with a boolean input called isDark (or something similar) to toggle between the different themes. You can do that by keyframing the colors in 2 different timeliens (let's say: light and dark) and then using the isDark boolean to toggle between them. Then you won't need a "master" artboard to toggel between the option with the solo.
