Designing Login/Signup UI with Rive Animations

Hey everyone! I'm currently working on the front-end animation for my app using Rive, and I’ve reached the stage where I need to design the UI for the login and signup screens. I'm wondering about the best way to handle this:

Should I create a separate Rive file specifically for the login/signup animations, or should I add more timelines to my existing UI Rive file?

Would love to hear your recommendations or any tips based on your experience with Rive. Thanks in advance!

Hi Molly.

It really depends on your setup and needs. What runtime are you using? How big is your .riv file? After login, will it jump right into the other Rive artboards?

Hey Lance, thanks for your reply!

We are using Rive Flutter runtime/ Right now, the Rive file is about 374KB, but we plan to expand it with more animations in the future. We want a seamless transition between the login/signup animation and the current running animations in the app. However, the app might not require users to log in every time the device opens—so ideally, it would jump straight to the main animations if the user is already logged in.

Would love your thoughts on whether it’s better to keep everything in one Rive file or if splitting files could help with smoother transitions and overall performance. Because this is my first project work on rive, really want some experienced advice, that would be really helpful.

Thanks again!
