More desktop app workspace layout controls?

I love working with the desktop app, but one of the things missing is the ability to truly customize your workspace. Everyone has their own ergonomic layout needs and right now all you can do is change the size of each panel, but cant do any of the things one would expect after working in other creative applications. Features like splitting panel horizontally or vertically, being able to see multiple timelines or artboards at once, moving certain panels to different locations, and saving layouts for different projects/workflows.

The feature along these lines that I'm missing most is the ability to pop a panel out into its own window, so that I can move my timeline/state machine panel onto a seperate display. I'd love to get a full screen view of the timeline, while also working full screen on the artboard. But now I'm limited by the size of a single monitor and when you've got a lot of keyframes it starts to get unyieldy to constantly be resizing and scrolling through panels to get to what I need.
