Rive stuck on loading screen, won't open on Windows desktop

I am on Rive version 0.8.1780 on windows 10.

I was working today and at some point I updated to 0.8.1780, then I continued working for 4 hours, eventually Rive disconnected and would not reconnect. I re-opened it and now it is permanently stuck on the Loading Rive screen.

When I checked the file on the webapp, I noticed it was last edited 4 hours ago. So it appears that I was working for hours since the update with Rive disconnected and no work being saved but Rive did not block me from editing as it usually does when it can't connect.
