This little example shows that we don't always have to use a full IK skeleton when we're rigging characters for animation. Keep in mind what the animation is for and rig it accordingly. Aside from the blade and the torso, everything in this animation is made up of strokes. All in all, there are fewer bones and fewer vertices to rig and then to animate. Remember to keep it simple and Design by Subtraction! 😊
